St. Lawrence Youth Live Stations of the Cross
Description: Our parish youth (Grades 6-12) portray the Stations of the Cross during Lent enhancing the emotional and spiritual needs of church parishioners and guests as they relive Jesus' journey to Calvary.
Membership: This annual program is advertised in the Church Bulletin, St. Lawrence School, Youth Faith Formation, and Middle School and High School Programs approximately seven weeks before Palm Sunday. All youth Grades 6-8 are welcome. Also looking for volunteers to assist with cast reception, costumes (alterations/maintenance), dramatic and musical components, photography and videography, practice supervision and stage crew. An average of approximately 65 student youth and 20 adult volunteers participate.
Time Commitment: Five (5) Sunday afternoons during Lent with one (1) dress rehearsal and one (1) performance (Friday evening before Palm Sunday) beginning the Sunday after Ash Wednesday.
Ministry Activities: Many youth participate year after year for this annual devotion forming a camaraderie with their parish peers. Participation provides an opportunity for community service in preparation for Confirmation and College Admission.
Meeting Frequency & Location: Five (5) Sunday afternoons, one (1) evening dress rehearsal the week of the performance and one (1) Friday evening performance the Friday before Palm Sunday. All takes place on the St. Lawrence Parish Campus.
