Requirements for Enrollment

St. Lawrence Catholic School is:

  • for practicing, believing Catholics.
  • for those who want their children to know, love, and serve God.
  • for those who want moral teaching, discipline, and Christ-centered academics.
  • for those who will fully participate in this philosophy.

St. Lawrence Catholic School is not:

  • a private school.
  • only for those who are intellectually bright or who can afford it.
  • a haven for those who would like an enclosed environment.

If you are not bringing your children to Mass on Sundays and following God's and the Church's laws, don't seek admission to St. Lawrence. It is not possible for us to fulfill our purpose when the Catholic Faith is not lived in the family. Your child/children can not respect what is taught at school when a different message is taught at home. It confuses the child and forms false consciences. We can not take part in condoning that double standard.

Admission to St. Lawrence Catholic School is prioritized as to:

  1. families who are practicing, supporting members of St. Lawrence Parish.
  2. families who are practicing, supporting members of parishes who do not have a Catholic school.
  3. families of other faiths who support the concept of Catholic education and the moral teaching, discipline, and Christ-centered academics it provides.

All re-enrollment and registration forms will be reviewed by the parish office prior to acceptance. If it appears a family is not practicing they will be asked to make an appointment for a personal interview.

The "sign" of practicing is the offertory envelope received at Sunday and Holy Day Mass. If families prefer to give their offering once a month, just put in the empty envelope the remainder of the Sundays in a month to indicate your presence.

Students will be admitted to Early Childhood 3 if they are three years of age by September 1 of the school year; to Early Childhood 4 if they are four years of age by September 1 of the school year; to kindergarten if they are five years of age by September 1 of the school year; and to first grade if they are six years of age by September 1 of the school year.

All new students must present certification of birth, Baptism, and other Sacraments received, the most recent report card, and standardized test results. Current health records must also be received 30 days from date of acceptance.

Placement examinations will be administered to all students entering grades one through eight
